Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 August 2026
This policy explains what personal data Velocity Web collects through velocityweb.co, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected].
Who we are
Velocity Web is a web development agency operating the website velocityweb.co. For the purposes of data protection law we are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at [email protected].
What we collect
Information you give us
When you submit our contact form we collect the name, email address and any other details you choose to include in your message. We use this solely to reply to your enquiry and to discuss a possible project. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with third parties for marketing.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our server records standard technical information when you visit: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. This is used for security, troubleshooting and understanding how the site is used.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies that collect information such as pages visited, time on page, approximate geographic location derived from IP address, and the device and browser used. This data is aggregated and we do not use it to identify individual visitors.
You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not stop you using this website.
Our website also uses functional cookies required for core features such as caching and security. These do not track you across other sites.
Security and content delivery
This website is protected by a security plugin that logs request data, including IP addresses, in order to detect and block malicious activity such as brute force login attempts. Traffic is also routed through Cloudflare, a content delivery and security network, which processes connection data to serve the site and filter abusive requests.
Third parties who process data for us
We use a small number of service providers who may process personal data on our behalf:
- Google Analytics for website usage statistics
- Cloudflare for content delivery, performance and security filtering
- Our web hosting provider, which stores the website and its database
- Our email provider, which delivers messages sent through the contact form
Each of these processes data under its own privacy terms. We do not sell personal data to anyone.
Legal basis for processing
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on the following bases. For contact form enquiries, we rely on your consent and on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. For analytics and security logging, we rely on our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functional website. Where consent is the basis, you can withdraw it at any time.
How long we keep it
Contact form enquiries are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting project, and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics configuration. Security logs are retained on a rolling short-term basis. If you would like your data deleted sooner, ask us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to or restrict how we process it, request a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these, email [email protected] and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
If you are in the UK or EU and believe we have not handled your data properly, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
Children
This website is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
External links
Our website links to other websites, including client projects and social media profiles. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we recommend reading their own privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected here, so it is worth checking back occasionally.
